When you set your goal in the app, you may encounter that you cannot enter an arbitrarily low weight. This is not a mistake, but an intention. This lower limit is based on the recommendations of professional health organizations and is set at a BMI value of <18.5 for adults.
It is important to know that weight is assessed differently for children and adolescents. So-called percentile tables are used, which take into account age and gender. However, the app is intended only for adult users, so it does not work with these tables. Nevertheless, it is good to know about them, because they show that healthy development in younger age groups cannot be assessed with just one number.
Being too low in weight is not just a figure on the scale, but can have serious health consequences. These include hormonal imbalance, weakened immunity and more frequent illnesses, loss of muscle mass and strength, fatigue and lower concentration. In addition, women may experience menstrual cycle disorders, and in both men and women, a decrease in overall performance and vitality.
That is why the lower limit of the target weight is set in the application to protect you from risky values and remind you that health always comes first. Dine4Fit are not intended to encourage dangerous goals or an unhealthy eating style, but to support a balanced approach, gradual changes and sustainable results.
Also remember that the application is only a tool that helps you keep track of your diet and goals. It does not replace individual recommendations from a doctor or nutritional therapist. If you are not sure what is right for you, it is always a good idea to consult a specialist who will help you set up a plan safely and with your health in mind.
