Sometimes you come across a food that is listed multiple times in the catalog – with the same or very similar name, but with different nutritional values. This is not an error or duplication that needs to be reported.
Why does this happen
Especially with sweets, canned goods and international brands (e.g. Milka, Coca-Cola) there can be multiple variants of the same product on the market with different compositions, and manufacturers change recipes and nutritional values over time. Therefore, the values from different batches and periods remain next to each other in the catalog, instead of being overwritten.
The goal is for everyone to be able to write down exactly the food they have in their hands, which is why we leave multiple items with different values in the catalog instead of one “universal”.
How to choose the right one
After scanning the barcode, select the item from the menu that corresponds to your specific package (the date of manufacture, weight or version of the recipe on the package will help). The catalog contains almost a million public items, and with such a volume of data, a real inaccuracy may exceptionally occur.
